We meet with Riverland's guides at Stavroupoli and we get the necessary equipment depending on the time of the year. From there we head to the river where after a short briefing we start our trip in Nestos.
We cross one of the most beautiful wild life resorts and with a litle respect to the environment we might see spotted dear drinking water from the river, and silver cranes who leave their nest to fly next to us. Way above us over the high rocks we can see the big birds of pray amongst them the biggest of europe, the black voulcher.
We have a pic nic stop at the train station of Livera where we catch the train towards Toxotes.

In Toxotes we change back to our dry clothes and we enter the jeeps towars Stavroupolis.

A short stop at the top of the mountain over Imera for a panoramic view of Nestos. Starting our descent to the valley of Stavroupolis we hope to see the wild horses running free near the deserted villages of Kromniko and Livera.
